Jane S. Kim is a Korean American writer originally from Los Angeles, CA.
In 2026, she was a finalist for the Ploughshares Emerging Writers Contest and the Epiphany Magazine Breakout! Prize as well as a semifinalist for the American Short(er) Fiction Contest and the Chautauqua Janus Prize. She is a 2022 PEN America Emerging Voices Fellow. She holds an MFA from the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University where she taught creative writing. She also spent eight years working in the tech sector as a software engineer and this experience informs her novel-in-progress.
